2021 වසර සඳහා වූ Gotham Awards සම්මාන උළෙල අද උදේ පවත්වලා තියෙනවා. මේ Gotham Awards කියන්නේ independent ෆිල්ම්ස්/ටීවී ශෝව්ස් සඳහා පවත්වන ඇමෙරිකාවේ ඉහළම සම්මාන උළෙලයි. Independent ෆිල්ම්ස්/ටීවී ශෝව්ස් කියන්නේ හොලිවුඩ් වල තියෙන ප්‍රධාන ස්ටූඩීයෝස් වල සම්බන්ධයක් නැතුව ප්‍රොඩක්ෂන් වැඩ කරලා නිර්මාණය කරපු ෆිල්ම්ස්/ටීවී ශෝව්ස් වලටයි. ෆිල්ම්ස් සහ ටීවී ශෝව්ස් ඉන්ඩස්ට්‍රියේ ඉහළට එන්න උත්සාහ කරන ආධුනිකයන්ට ගොඩාක් වටින සම්මාන උළෙලක්. මේක පැවැත්වෙන්නේ New York City වල. New York City එකට අතීතයේ කියපු නික් නේම් එක තමයි Gotham කියන්නේ. ඒ ඇසුරින් තමා මේ සම්මාන උළෙලේ නම හැදිලා තියෙන්නේ. මේ සම්මාන උළෙල පවත්වන්නේ Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) කියන ආයතනය විසින්. පළවෙනි Gotham Awards සම්මාන උළෙල පවත්වලා තියෙන්නේ මීට අවුරුදු තිහකට කලින් 1991 දී.
මෙවර පැවැත්වූ Gotham සම්මාන උළෙලේ ෆිල්ම්ස් කැටගරියෙන් කැපීපෙනෙන සම්මාන ලබාගත්තේ Maggie Gyllenhaal ඩිරෙක්ට් කරපු පළවෙනි ෆිල්ම් එක වෙන The Lost Daughter ෆිල්ම් එකයි. ඒ ෆිල්ම් එක Breakthrough Director සහ Best Screenplay සඳහා තිබුණ සම්මාන ලබාගත්තා. ටීවී ශෝව්ස් පැත්තෙන් ළඟදී ලොවපුරා ජනප්‍රිය වුණ Squid Game ටිවී ශෝ එක කැපීපෙනන විදිහට සම්මාන ලබාගත්තා. Squid Game එකට ඇමෙරිකාවෙන් හම්බවුණු පළවෙනි major award එක තමයි මේ. ගිය අවුරුද්දේ Gotham Awards එකේ best feature සඳහා සම්මාන ලබාගත්තු Nomadland ෆිල්ම් එක ඒ අවුරුද්දේ ඔස්කාර් සම්මානයත් ලබාගත්තා. ඒ වගේම Sound of Metal වගේ ෆිල්ම්ස් ඔස්කාර් යන්න කලින් Gotham Awards වල සම්මාන ලබාගත්තා. ඒ හින්දා මේ සම්මාන උළෙලේ වැදගත්කම ඔයාලට තේරෙනවා ඇති. පල්ලෙහායින් දාලා තියෙනවා සම්මාන ලබාගත්තු අයගේ සහ ෆිල්ම්ස්/ටීවී ශෝව්ස් වල ලිස්ට් එක.
